ShefUniAc @ The ESAA National Cross Country Championship
The move to university can be daunting experience as can choosing the right university. Last weekend, Vice- Club Captain Harry Russell and committee member Ollie Dane battled the elements by heading north to Leeds and Temple Newsam for the our club trip to the National English Schools XC.
Sheffield really is a hidden gem for runners and for athletes, with all specific facilities and unspoiled scenic spots you could ever want to train. With the big dog University’s paying their way to grab all the headlines and article space, it’s worth noting that there are certainly positive alternatives for those athletes looking to further their careers at University.
Our intention was offer the personable touch that offers don't. The North is famed for its friendly touch and as the top performing Northern University we lead the way. As a club that prides our selves on accessibility and inclusivity, our trip to the English schools was a very important step for us, as we want you to get a sense of what we uniquely offer compared to others, before you even begin your athletics journey with us.
Our club members were on hand throughout the day to take any questions or concerns our potential students had about Sport Sheffield, university sport, Athletics or studying in Sheffield in general.
There were some outstanding performances from all the athletes who we thoroughly enjoyed watching and speaking to throughout the day.
The club will also be in attendance at the English Schools Track and Field event.
If not then, we hope to see some of you in September!
